Lions Linked to Super Bowl-Winning WR After NFL Draft

The Detroit Lions put a big focus on the defense when approaching the 2026 NFL Draft. Only two of seven picks were on the offensive side of the ball. That includes offensive tackle Blake Miller (No. 17) and wide receiver Kendrick Law (No. 168).

Law, a fifth-round pick, spent four years at the collegiate level, accumulating 86 receptions for 883 yards and four touchdowns. However, he wasn't the only wide receiver Detroit has added this offseason.

They also signed veteran Greg Dortch, who will be 28 years old when the 2026 season begins. These additions could help boost a wide receiver room already headlined by Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.

However, even after picking up Law and Dortch, the Lions are still showing interest in other options. On Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Detroit is hosting free agent wide receiver Scotty Miller for a visit.

Miller started his NFL career as a sixth-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2019 NFL Draft. He quickly found success, putting together his most productive season during the Buccaneers' 2020 Super Bowl-winning season.

He appeared in 16 games and made five starts, racking up 33 receptions, 501 yards and three touchdowns, all of which are still career highs. After four years in Tampa Bay, he landed with the Atlanta Falcons, but had a minimal impact.

Following his one-year stint with the Falcons, he landed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Over the past two seasons, he's appeared in 26 games and made just one start. With Pittsburgh, he's accounted for just 14 receptions, 131 yards and zero touchdowns.

However, at 28 years old, his previous success and veteran presence make him an intriguing option for the Lions. It would be a low-risk signing for Detroit, with Spotrac projecting Miller to earn a one-year, $1.6 million contract.
