Makenzie Henthorn tops TDN 10 high school softball players of the week
Plenty of local high school softball athletes racked up hits at the plate and made life difficult for batters in the circle. Here are the top 10 high school softball players of the week in order of best performances.

Makenzie Henthorn - Mark Morris

Henthorn Henthorn was named TDN's top high school softball player of the week after striking out 41 batters in just 18 total innings of action during four shutout wins last week for the Monarchs.
It comes as no surprise that Henthorn returns to the list for a second week in a row.
In four games last week - all shutout wins - Henthorn struck out 41 batters and allowed just a total of two hits with no earned runs in 18 innings of action.
In a 4-0 win against Columbia River on April 20, she nearly threw a perfect game, tossing a no-hitter while generating 16 strikeouts and only walking two batters in seven innings.
She also struck out 10 batters while allowing just one hit each in a 16-0 victory over Woodland on Thursday and in a 13-0 win against Hockinson on Saturday.
On Friday versus the Hawks, Henthorn didn't allow any hits or earned runs and generated five strikeouts in just two innings of work. The senior also combined for four hits at the plate, with a home run and two doubles, while totaling six RBIs.
Taylor Lee - Mark Morris

Lee recorded 11 total hits, including two home runs and two doubles, with 11 RBIs last week for the Monarchs and earned a spot on TDN's list the top high school softball players of the week.
Lee has come onto the scene as a freshman despite the Monarchs returning a bevy of talent.
Last week, she had 11 total hits, including two home runs and two doubles, with 11 RBIs. Lee showed what she could do against Woodland, recording five hits, with a double, and five RBIs.
She then smashed two home runs against Hockinson on Friday, finishing with three hits and five RBIs.
Joey Sizemore - Clatskanie

Sizemore returns to the list of TDN's top high school softball players of the week after generating 26 strikeouts in just 10 innings of work in two games while only giving away four hits and four earned runs.
Sizemore returns to the list once again. The senior led the Tigers to three consecutive wins over Vernonia, outscoring the Loggers 55-11. She pitched in two of those games, generating 26 strikeouts in just 10 innings of work while only giving away four hits and four earned runs.
Sizemore struck out 15 batters in six innings during a 16-3 win Wednesday and retired 11 more in the first leg of the doubleheader on Friday, a 17-2 victory. She also totaled three hits, with a home run, a triple, and a double, and seven RBIs in the three wins.
Jolie Oathes - Woodland

Oathes is the third returner from last week's list of honorees. The senior totaled eight hits, with three home runs and a double, and 10 RBIs in a 3-1 week for the Beavers.
In a 33-1 win over Hudson's Bay in the second leg of the doubleheader on Friday, Oathes smashed two homers, finishing with four hits and seven RBIs. In the game prior against the Eagles, a 35-0 victory, she had three hits, with a home run, and three RBIs. Oathes also added a double in a 15-2 win over Washougal on Monday.
Emma Barrow - Woodland

Barrow earned a spot on TDN's top high school softball players of the week list after notching eight total hits with a home run and three doubles, and 12 RBIs for the Beavers last week.
Oathes wasn't the only Beaver that had a stellar week. Barrow also shined for Woodland, notching eight total hits with a home run and three doubles, and 12 RBIs.
Her best game came in the first matchup with Hudson's Bay, where she recorded five hits, with a home run and a double, and six RBIs. She also had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs in the rematch and added a double with three RBIs versus the Panthers.
Brooke Hefley - Kelso

Hefley is another newcomer to this list. The senior had five hits, with two home runs, and eight RBIs in two wins for the Lassies.
She hit two balls out of the park in a 34-2 victory over Evergreen on Friday, finishing with three hits and seven RBIs. Hefley added two hits and one RBI in a 7-3 win over Toledo on Tuesday.
Kayden Byrum - Clatskanie

Byrum is the second Tiger to make this list after totaling five hits, with a home run and two doubles, and eight RBIs in three wins for the Tigers.
She had three hits, with a home run and a double, and four RBIs on Wednesday against the Loggers and added two hits with a double and three RBIs in the second game on Friday. She notched an RBI in the game prior.
Jordyn Casi - Toutle Lake

Casi is yet another returner to this list. The junior finished with a total of four hits, with a home run, and seven RBIs in a 2-1 week for the Ducks.
She had three hits, with a home run, and four RBIs in a 22-6 win over Onalaska on Monday.
She tallied a hit and an RBI in an 18-5 loss to Napavine on Saturday and added two RBIs in an 8-7 victory against Mossyrock on Thursday.
Alabama Hawes - Woodland
Hawes is the third Beaver to make the list this week. Last week for the Beavers, the freshman tallied a total of seven hits, with two triples, and eight RBIs.
She had four hits, with a triple, and four RBIs in the second game against Hudson's Bay and finished with three hits and four RBIs with a triple in the opener.
Maddi Twichell - Rainier
Twitchell totaled three hits, with a home run and a triple, and seven RBIs in two wins for the Columbians in a doubleheader against Corbett on Thursday. She hit one out of the park in the opening 23-13 win, finishing with two hits and four RBIs.
The senior added a triple and tallied three RBIs in the rematch, a 17-2 victory.
