Community Sports: Jeremiah Rubano, Courtney Thompson-Kurosawa winners at Spring Classic Duathlon at Vancouver Lake Park

Jeremiah Rubano and Courtney Thompson-Kurosawa were the top finishers of the Spring Classic Duathlon on Sunday at Vancouver Lake Park.

The event was a 5-kilometer run/13-mile bike ride/5-kilometer run around Vancouver Lake and Frenchmen's Bar County Park. The event was hosted by Y Racing.

Rubano completed the course in 1 hour, 15 minutes, 32 seconds to beat out Carson Chambers (1:17:56) and Carl Werner (1:18.35).

Thompson-Kurosawa won the women's division in 1:24:41, followed by Christine McClane (1:28:32) and Jodie Bolt (1:33:04).

Other winners on Sunday included:

Half marathon: Philip Johnson, men (1:25:18); Sabrina Bulas, women (1:29:39).

10-K run: Calvin Deuthschbein, men (40:53); Abby Knight, women (42:39).

5-K run: Stephen Wanta, men (19:18); Heather Rohrer, women (21:45).
