What Is the Injury Status for Anthony Edwards?
Minnesota walked out of Game 4 with a big playoff win, but the mood around the team was not exactly all celebration.
The Timberwolves beat Denver 110-96 and moved closer to advancing, yet the night took a rough turn when two key starters went down before the break. Donte DiVincenzo's injury happened almost as soon as the game started. He planted awkwardly while trying to follow his shot, immediately left the floor, and the concern only grew from there. Reports later confirmed the worst: a torn right Achilles, ending his season.
Then, just before halftime, Anthony Edwards gave Minnesota another scare. He came down awkwardly on his left leg, grabbed at the knee area, and had to be helped toward the locker room. The team checked him during the break, but he did not return after halftime, leaving the Wolves without their biggest star for the rest of the night.
For Denver, that should have been the opening. The Nuggets had chances to swing the game and briefly looked like they might take advantage, especially while Minnesota was trying to adjust without Edwards and DiVincenzo. But instead of falling apart, the Timberwolves got a massive lift from Ayo Dosunmu.
Dosunmu turned the game into his own moment, dropping 43 points off the bench and carrying Minnesota through the second half. It was the kind of performance that completely changed the story of the night. Still, even with the win, the biggest question now is Edwards' status going forward, while DiVincenzo faces a long recovery.
