Sounders look to extend home unbeaten streak when they host FC Dallas
Sounders coach Brian Schmetzer wants his team to entertain the home crowd, and they've done that since returning to their stadium.
The team has scored seven goals in its past two matches at Lumen Field, albeit the 3-1 win against Mexico's Tigres UANL last week was a CONCACAF Champions Cup series loss.
And it's not just goals. The Sounders will try to extend their 19-match unbeaten streak (14-0-5) when they host FC Dallas. The run includes a CCC win in Spokane due to renovations at Lumen.
The last time the Sounders lost on their field was a 2-0 result against Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA men's Club World Cup in June 2025.
Here's a look at Saturday's match:
Sounders (5-1-1) vs Dallas (3-2-4)
Time/place: 7:30 p.m. at Lumen Field in Seattle
TV: Apple TV
Radio: 93.3 KJR FM (English) and El Rey 1360 AM (Spanish)
Series history: The Sounders lead the all-time series 23-11-13 since 2009.
Golden Boot race
Croatian international Petar Musa leads the MLS Golden Boot race with nine to open the season. The striker was a record-breaking signing in 2024 but he hasn't changed Dallas' fate against the Sounders. The side hasn't won in Seattle since 2011, and Musa has only scored one goal in four matches against the Sounders.
The Dallas star may be unavailable Saturday. FCD had a five-match unbeaten streak (2-0-3) snapped by Minnesota on Wednesday, Musa subbing off in the 70th minute with an apparent leg injury.
CR 400
Sounders midfielder Cristian Roldan will be honored before the match for making his 400th career appearance with the club, through all competitions, earlier this month. The former University of Washington standout ranks second all-time in club history to Sounders keeper Stefan Frei.
Roldan won't play in the match due to being under concussion protocol. The incident happened this week at training.
Sounders midfielder Albert Rusnák (hamstring) is also questionable to play. He suffered his injury the second half of last week's win against St. Louis City.
Quotable
"It's fun playing consistently," Andrew Thomas said of being the first-choice Sounders keeper for MLS matches. "It's been a collective effort. Defensively we've been really solid no matter who we put in the backline and ahead of the backline. The intensity that every single person is bringing is contagious."
