Nicky Butt Blasts Alejandro Garnacho- 'He Disrespected Manchester United'
In the world of soccer, many players end up making headlines for things unrelated to their performance. In some cases, it's good news, but in many others, they're in the spotlight for showing disrespect toward their teammates or their former club.
One of those players is former Manchester United player Alejandro Garnacho, who began as an exciting prospect for the Red Devils but gradually faded due to off-field issues, leaving the club with no option but to sell him to Chelsea FC.
In an episode of the show Good Bad Football, Nicky Butt, a Manchester United legend, spoke out against the young Argentine player.
"The best thing for me that Man United did was sell him"
The reality is that no one can deny Alejandro Garnacho's footballing talent, but his personality and attitude, both in training and in the dressing room, can certainly be questioned.
Knowing this, Nicky Butt said: "Because if you're in changing rooms and you leave and you completely disrespect your teammates and the football club."
Adding: "That's it. If he had come into our team, it would have been a different story. He might still be there, he might be flying now, but he'd have been, he would have been under control, taken out every single day in training."
Garnacho is another case, as the Manchester United legend rightly said, where indiscipline can overshadow talent, no matter how great it is.
Butt noted that the Argentinian wonderkid possessed a relentless mentality, always pushing forward and refusing to give up, a rare quality.
Nevertheless, when a player thinks he is better than his teammates and doesn't care about anything else but himself, that's where the problems start to appear.
With this being said, Butt ended his talk about Garnacho saying: "The problem was that when he reached the first team at Manchester United, he thought he was more than he really was, far too quickly."
Adding: "For me, the best thing the club did was sell him. His attitude at Manchester United, honestly, was a disgrace."
