Alabama Favorite Kadyn Proctor Keeps Getting Mocked to 1 NFL Team
The 2026 NFL draft is just hours away, and Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor is expected to go in the first round of the event.
Proctor is one of the best tackles in this draft class, but it’s also a class that has a lot of tackles, which is why he may fall later in the first round. The three-day draft begins on Thursday, April 23, and airs live from Pittsburgh at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN, ABC and the ESPN App.
Jordan Reid of ESPN has unleashed a seven-round mock draft predicting all 32 teams’ picks in the draft.
“I’ve compiled these projections based on my latest intel from conversations with sources throughout the league, months of scouting the entire class and examining each team’s biggest positional needs,” he says in the feature. “I didn’t project any trades, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be surprises and intrigue.”

For the Proctor, he has the Alabama standout going to the Houston Texans with the No. 28 selection.
“Offensive line has been a constant need for the Texans, and the 6-foot-7, 352-pound Proctor might have the most upside of any blocker in this class,” he states in the piece. “Along with being massive, he’s a heavy-handed blocker who generates movement with ease.”
He adds: “There are questions about Proctor’s conditioning and whether he fits better as a tackle or a guard in the NFL, but the Texans need help up front after finishing last in run block win rate and 30th in pass block win rate last season.”

Should the Houston Texans Take Kadyn Proctor?
For the Texans, Proctor offers an instant boost to the team’s offensive line. Houston has a strong season during their 2025-26 run, but they fell short, and if the team had a stronger offensive line, that likely would have made the difference to get them further int he playoffs.
Pick No. 28 isn’t early in the round, so the Texans won’t get the best of the best, but Proctor is a close second.
