Arizona State's Max Iheanachor Lands With Super Bowl Winner in New Mock

It’s almost time for the 2026 NFL draft, and the excitement is building as the clock ticks down to the start of the three-day event, which kicks off on Thursday, April 23, and happens in Pittsburgh. It airs live on ESPN, ABC and the ESPN App.

One of the top college prospects in this class is offensive tackle Max Iheanachor out of Arizona State. He’s been mocked to a range of tams, but the latest is a recent Super Bowl winner.

Jordan Reid of ESPN has published a comprehensive seven-round mock draft rattling off all 32 teams’ picks in the draft.

“I’ve compiled these projections based on my latest intel from conversations with sources throughout the league, months of scouting the entire class and examining each team’s biggest positional needs,” he says. “I didn’t project any trades, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be surprises and intrigue.”

For Iheanachor, he has the player going to the Philadelphia Eagles. He also sees the player eventually replacing a veteran.

“Right tackle Lane Johnson will turn 36 in May and missed eight games due to injury last season,” he notes. “Eagles GM Howie Roseman often drafts eventual replacements for longtime veterans in advance, and Iheanachor is a great player to bring in to execute a Johnson succession plan.”

Reid adds: “Iheanachor won’t be ready to start right away, as he’s still new to the sport (he started playing in junior college). He still has to learn how to sequence his frame and hand usage when latching into rushers, but he has unlimited potential and would have time to develop in Philadelphia.”

Does Max Iheanachor to the Eagles Make Sense?

For the Eagles, the only hesitation here is that Iheanachor will have plenty of development ahead of him. As Reid mentioned, he’s still fairly new to the sport and position, and that’s a disadvantage.

But, the Eagles are the kind of team that puts work into their young talent. Iheanachor needs a team who will develop him, and that’s something they can do, which would make this a relationship with mutual interest.
