Prep Highlights: Prairie softball shuts out Heritage 11-0
Mackenzie Moore pitched a five-inning three-hit shutout and did some damage at the plate in Prairie's 11-0 win over Heritage in 3A Greater St. Helens League softball action Tuesday.
Moore had seven strikeouts and two walks as the Falcons (7-4, 2-0 3A GSHL) won their third game in a row and handed Heritage (7-5, 2-1) its first league loss.
At the plate, Moore was just as effective in the leadoff spot. She was 2 for 3 with a two-run home run in the second inning and a two-run double in the fifth.
Payton Miller brought home Moore with a home run in the next at-bat, and Kylie Moore made it back-to-back homers with a solo shot.

Colin Hogaboom, Seton Catholic baseball, went 3 for 5 with a two-run double as the Cougars remained unbeaten in Trico League play with a 14-1 win over Columbia of White Salmon.
Will Anderson, La Center baseball, was 3 for 4 with two doubles, a two-run triple, and scored three runs in the Wildcats' 11-5 win over Kalama.
Henry Wheeler, Stevenson baseball, struck out 10 batters in a complete-game 13-7 win over Fort Vancouver. He also drove in a run.
Malea Figueroa and Audrey Jackson, Skyview softball, were each 3 for 4 with a double, home run and three RBI as the Storm won at Camas 13-1 in five innings.
Laila Reive, Mountain View softball, was 2 for 3 with three RBI in the Thunder's 17-3 win over Evergreen in 3A Greater St. Helens League play.
Kylie McMaster, Seton Catholic softball, went 4 for 4 with a home run, two doubles and four RBI in a 9-3 win over Columbia-White Salmon.
Ambrey Roney, Stevenson softball, went 2 for 3 with a double and four RBI in a 20-5 win over Fort Vancouver.
Alyssa Rigby, Mountain View girls golf, had 38 points in the Stableford scoring match to help the Thunder beat Kelso 65-41 at Fairway Village.
Elsie Herold, Mark Morris girls track and field, ran a 2A-best 14.83 seconds in the 100 hurdles and a personal-best 57.10 in the 400 in a dual-meet win over Washougal.
Brandon Thomas Jr., Kelso boys track and field, won the high jump, 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles in a dual-meet win over Mountain View.
Kyleigh Moore, Camas girls track and field, threw the discus 128 feet, 11 inches in a dual-meet win over Union, a throw that ranks second in Class 4A.
