UW Husky men's basketball lands transfer point guard Ryan Beasley, report says

After losing its top two point guards to the transfer portal, the Washington men's basketball team found its next floor general in Ryan Beasley, an All-WCC performer at San Francisco last season, who reportedly committed to the Huskies.

On3's Pete Nakos broke the news Monday morning.

Beasley averaged 13.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists - all career highs - during the 2025-26 season while earning all-league second team honors and guiding the Dons to a 17-16 record.

He started in all 31 games that he appeared in and shot 40.7% from the field, 32.7% from beyond the arc and 82.7% on free throws.

Beasley, a San Ramon, Calif., native, has spent three seasons at San Francisco where he averaged 10.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals while starting 35 of 90 games.

He was the WCC Freshman of the Year in 2024.

Beasley, who is the third transfer to join Washington following Parker Friedrichsen (Davidson) and Steele Venters (Gonzaga), seemingly takes over at point guard after Zoom Diallo (Kentucky) and JJ Mandaquit (Arizona) left the program.

Washington has eight scholarship players pledged for the 2026-27 season including Beasley, Friedrichsen, Venters, Wesley Yates III, Lathan Sommerville, Jasir Rencher, Nikola Dzepina and Mady Traore.

Division I teams are allowed 15 players. Tuesday is the last day men's basketball players can enter the portal, but there's no deadline for them to commit and sign with schools.
