Adam Schefter Called Out For Bizarre NFL Draft, Nick Singleton Mistake

With the NFL Draft less than a week away, ESPN insider Adam Schefter is facing backlash for his latest report on Penn State running back Nicholas Singleton.

Singleton, who had 3,461 rushing yards, 987 receiving yards and 54 total touchdowns during his time with the Nittany Lions, suffered a broken foot during practice at the Senior Bowl in January. Fortunately for the mid-round prospect, he's been medically cleared to start running again.

"Penn St. RB Nick Singleton, who broke his 5th metatarsal in his right foot at the Senior Bowl, now has been medically cleared and has resumed running," Schefter said. "Singleton projects to be a mid-round pick next week."

While there's nothing wrong with the information that Schefter reported about Singleton, he accidentally shared a photo of former running back Cordell Mitchell, who played at Penn State from 1996-1999.

Naturally, NFL and college football fans questioned how Schefter could make such a bizarre mistake.

"You can't hide it Adam not matter how many edited posts," one fan replied.

"I genuinely want to know how you made this mistake," a second fan wrote.

"Adam dropping the wrong pic again... but hey, at least the foot's cleared. Mid round glass slipper RB incoming," another fan commented.

Penn State trolls Adam Schefter.

This deleted tweet from Schefter generated so much traction that even the official X account for Penn State poked fun at him.

Penn State posted one of Mitchell's long touchdown runs along with this caption: "Heard a scoop Nick Singleton is back. One of our favorite runs."

It's fair to assume that Schefter will be mocked again once Singleton gets drafted.
