Angel Reese Reacts to Lauren Betts News
Lauren Betts is having quite an eventful month. After leading the UCLA Bruins to the National Championship and winning Most Outstanding Player in the process, Betts was taken fourth overall by the Washington Mystics in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
Betts, who has career averages of 14.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.0 blocks in four years in college, is expected to play a big role for a Mystics team that boasts plenty of young talent. Guard Sonia Citron and forward Kiki Iriafen, who were both drafted in 2025, made the WNBA All-Star Game in their rookie seasons.
The good news didn't stop there for Betts. On Wednesday, Reebok announced that Betts has signed a deal with the brand, making her the fifth WNBA athlete to join the company after Angel Reese, Aneesah Morrow, Dijonai Carrington and Lexie Brown.
Betts is also reportedly set to get a shoe deal with Reebok, according to Meghan L. Hall of USA Today.
The news was met with plenty of positive reactions, with many congratulating Betts. Among those who expressed their delight over the deal was Reese.
Reese, who is undoubtedly the most popular athlete under Reebok's umbrella, showed her support for Betts and welcomed her with open arms.
"AHHHH! What's up CHAMP!" the new Atlanta Dream forward wrote excitedly.

On Instagram, Reese further showed how hyped she is to have Betts as part of Reebok. She also commented on the brand's post about the rookie's signing, saying the former UCLA star is "another BADDIEEEEE."
While Reese and Betts will be playing for different teams in the WNBA, it will definitely be interesting to see if Reebok will have them collaborate on some brand promotions in the upcoming 2026 WNBA season.
Before that, though, Reese and Betts are set to meet soon, as the Dream and Mystics have a preseason game scheduled on May 3.
