College football
Former Kennewick star Ashton Tripp has started in the first two games for the Washington State University football team — first against the University of Idaho, and then against San Diego State.
Tripp — a redshirt sophomore — is a left tackle at 6-foot-7, 303 pounds.
Both WSU games were victories.

College volleyball
Bushnell University has two Tri-City women on its volleyball roster.
Sophomore outside hitter Peyton Arland (Kamiakin) and freshman middle blocker Aliyah Malone (River View) are on the Beacons roster.
The two have played limited roles so far for 6-4 Bushnell.
Arland did have 8 kills and 7 digs in a 3-0 win over Simpson of California on Aug. 15.
Signing
Southridge senior Coppin Hunkapillar announced a few weeks ago that he has committed to playing baseball next year for Whitworth College.
Hunkapillar is a standout at both third base and as a pitcher.
With that out of the way, he can now concentrate on playing quarterback for the Suns.
