Letter: Small business targeted by vandalism in Richland
I’m really disappointed at the level of vandalism that has been directed at one particular business numerous times over the last two months.
It started on June 24, a very hot Richland farmers market day, when a sandwich board for the Mid-Columbia Market that was sitting at a street corner near the farmers market, at the corner of Lee and Goethals, was stomped on and destroyed by someone wearing not only a lanyard, but also a fully zipped-up hoodie with the hood covering their head, and sunglasses covering their face. Perhaps they didn't want to be recognized while they were vandalizing the sign? The vandalism has continued since then on similar signs in the same area, with the signs defaced in various ways.
It’s sad that for some reason one or more people have chosen to target a small local business, especially one whose mission is to support local producers year round and make it easier for consumers to give their support to local producers year round.
If you see it happening, please ask whoever they are to stop. Or support the business to show that vandalism is not successful at damaging the business. Thank you.
