Letter: There were many reasons to vote against the Link

Why did I vote against the Link? Many reasons, not the least of which was the lack of care given the facility already there. The roof leaks? That is a reason to replace the entire building or requires a major restructuring?

What that tells me is that this is like so many other publicly financed projects that are not properly maintained and that are under-priced to their users. Any private business that has facilities makes provisions to fund maintenance and renovation, if that is justified and they intend to continue in business. Public facilities just seem to muddle along and ignore the wear and tear until they are desperate.

Another reason is that I do not use any form of external entertainment of that sort because the cost is prohibitive for me. Yes, I am one of those old geezers on limited income and have no use whatever for such a thing. Add to that the traffic that is already in the Columbia Center Boulevard area and you have an area that I avoid.
