Letter: Trump doesn’t believe in science
There are many reasons for not supporting Donald Trump, but in my opinion, the major reason is the fact that Trump, by his own admission, does not believe in science.
I’m not sure what the Donald means when he says he doesn’t believe in science, and after listening to many of his speeches, I don’t think he knows what he means either. He may mean that he simply doesn’t believe in climate change. This is a distinct possibility, because Trump is running as a Republican, and more than 50 percent of the Republican members of Congress deny the validity of climate change, despite the consensus of every scientific organization in the world.
Or, maybe by not believing in science, Trump means that science doesn’t have the answers to everything. That is certainly true. But certainly, science is the most reliable knowledge we have. It is disturbing to me that anyone in this modern age would vote for a person who says he doesn’t believe in science.
