Letter: Politicians must end their collusion with criminal corporations

Both the Republican leadership and the Democratic leadership are corrupted. Both exploit the public to serve rapacious corporations, whose lobbyists write our laws and international treaties. Corporate-controlled media replaces information with trivia and profits. Politicians seek bribes, then cheat us with economic inequality gimmicks. Our research tax dollars enable pharmaceutical extortion.

“Smaller government” deregulates health protections, the safety we need, and opposes existing programs: public schools, mental health services, infrastructure jobs, food for the starving, Social Security, and healthcare for the disabled and elderly. “Smaller government” is serfdom; abandoning democracy.

After paying bribes, corporations currently bulldoze our Appalachian Mountains. Sen. John McCain seized an Indian reservation to create an open-pit copper mine. Politicians promote fracking, pipeline, and fossil fuel devastation, which poison our air, water, and food, killing people and natural resources.

Our patience is thin. Injustice has been the major cause of revolutions. We, the public, outnumber you politicians. Eliminate, now, your collusion with criminal corporations.
