Letter: Thank you to newspaper carrier and Pasco police

Recently, I forgot to close the pet door, and I was awakened by a catfight in the house. I opened the front and back doors and chased the confused cat out. I closed the back door, locked the pet door and went back to bed, thinking I could get some sleep.

It was barely daylight when I heard noises in the house and saw flashlights. Thinking I was dreaming, it took me a few minutes to figure out the police were in my house calling my name. Luckily, the newspaper carrier had called the police after seeing my front door was wide open and the house dark. I had forgotten to close the front door when I chased the cat out.

And so I wish to thank the great carrier for great customer service. Also, thank you to the great Pasco police, who came right away.

I am sorry for being such a silly old lady who needs a little watching over. The pet door is on my list of lockups every night now.

Barbara I. Whitney, Pasco
