Letter: Please keep chins up and eyes open when walking or biking park paths
Enjoying city parks with situational awareness, whether walking or biking, keeps pathways safe. I walk or bike Richland’s waterfront daily and I agree that Howard Amon’s path is very congested.
It is not difficult to ride around walkers using proper etiquette, nor is it difficult to step over for bikers using proper etiquette. The crux of the matter is situational awareness. So many groups of people congregate on the pathway blocking traffic, completely unaware.
This is not a new issue, but my goodness, this new Pokemon game has made traffic worse. Can we keep the little virtual nuisances out of public parks along with cemeteries and museums? Can we keep our chins up and our eyes open when we walk out our front doors?
Let’s hope this fad is short-lived.
