Letter: Use caller ID to screen calls
I'm writing in response to the letter best on Sunday, July 17. Mr. Smith has answered a call from someone wanting money for a charity, at least that's what the caller says.
Some people have to answer a ringing phone, can’t stand to let it ring. I suggest he get a phone with caller ID, call block and an answering machine. Caller ID shows who the caller is, area code and phone number and if they have a message the answer machine will take it.
Most calls will hang up. You use call block if they keep calling. Soon they quit.
