Letter: Ban fireworks in West Richland
Four or more years ago, I went to a public meeting at an elementary school in West Richland as the city was having a discussion on fireworks. I spoke up and said that they should be banned, since we have a field in our backyard full of dry grass.
The city took it upon itself to not ban fireworks, but to have certain days to light them off. This year we were gone to the west side, and when we came back there were leftover fireworks in our front and back yard that our neighbors had shot off. If there had been a fire we would not have been here to try and put it out.
So my point is, ban those fireworks and let the citizens of West Richland go to a place where they have fireworks displays.
