Letter: Vote Erin Jones for superintendent of public instruction

Erin Jones is the best choice for our state superintendent of public instruction. She has 25 years of experience in public education. She is also a former assistant superintendent at OSPI and worked under both of the previous two leaders.

Erin has extensive experience training educators on equity and understanding diversity. She supports local innovative school models, such as Delta High School. She will focus on an assessment process that is not intrusive and high stakes, and instead more informative and manageable.

Erin has worked in several of the biggest districts in our state. She understands the complex challenges that face our educators, students and families. She has experience working with huge budgets and large teams. Erin believes funding is critically important for the success of our schools and will work towards fully funding our districts. However, she believes full funding is not the only solution.

Erin is not a politician. She is an outstanding educator who truly believes in all children. Having previously worked with Erin, I know firsthand her passion for kids and belief that all students have the ability to find success. Seriously consider Erin Jones as your choice for our next superintendent of public instruction.
