Letter: How do candidates intend to fulfill their promises?

Election time is getting close. Political jargon is appearing with more frequency. All for one purpose — getting the public vote. Everyone knows that!

My major concern is all this talk not saying anything, just words. So I should like to ask some questions.

Congressman Newhouse, if you want my vote, don’t tell me you are “working for small business” or “working to curb government spending.”

Tell me what legislation you have presented, what bills have you authored? What legislation have you endorsed?

Tell me what you voted for, other than that proposed by fellow Republicans.

Tell me how much time you are spending really working for the people, as opposed to the hours spent in the fundraising offices.

Tell me this, Congressman, and you just might get my vote.

As for others seeking a political office, please don’t keep making speeches about how you want to change this or improve that. Tell me exactly how you intend to fulfill such pledges. Do this and perhaps you might get my vote.

We face serious problems that require serious answers. I am seeking someone to take the bull by the horns.

Could someone prove to be this person? I hope so.
