Letter: A vote for Bill Jenkin is a vote for our community

It is with great pleasure that I endorse William “Bill” Jenkin for the office of District 16 representative to the state Legislature.

I met Bill three years ago after becoming a member of the Prosser Boys & Girls Club, quickly learning that Bill had invested hundreds of hours into ensuring that youth in his community had a positive place to go after school. Bill was the founding board chairman of the Boys & Girls Club in Prosser, which is now a daily safe haven for more than 120 kids in the community.

As the Washington State Youth of the Year, I have the honor of representing more than 75,000 youth who depend on the clubs in our state. It is because of Bill’s efforts that the Prosser community has a phenomenal organization for youth to rely on. Bill’s passion for youth and education is clearly portrayed by his contributions to the Boys & Girls Club, but extends to his capacity as the president of the Prosser School District board of directors.

Bill is devoted to education, agriculture, and creating jobs. A vote for Bill is a vote for our community — join me in voting for Bill!

Sebastian “Zebbie” Castilleja, Prosser
