Letter: Vote for Link project to benefit our lives
I came to the Tri-Cities 19 years ago and there was, quite frankly, very little to make our community a destination. We have been evolving into a destination metropolis and can’t stop that momentum now. I personally have had my hand in some of the projects contributing towards that goal.
But we lag behind the major cities, and now Yakima, who all offer a premiere entertainment venue and theatre. Not long ago, hubby and I went to see the Broadway show, the Blue Man Group, at the Windermere Theatre at the Toyota Center in Kennewick. We couldn’t see or hear a thing and walked out.
The Link project will generate untold tourism revenue, local jobs, and a place to showcase and enjoy the arts, benefiting all of us. The price of supporting a publicly funded venue, the way it is funded in major cities, ours with a tax that ends, is 2 cents for every $10 spent. Two cents. You know, those pesky little pennies you never do want back in change.
Take pride, do your part with those tax pennies to continue to make our community grow, stand out and benefit our lives. Vote yes for The Link!
