Letter: Photo next to roadway created a distraction for drivers

This is regarding the front page picture on June 6, of Shannon Moulton of Richland holding a photo of her daughter as traffic passes by on Highway 395 in Pendleton.

First, I can understand the lady’s loss, as I have also lost my daughter. My question is whose idea was it to take the picture alongside the roadway where her daughter died tragically? Isn’t that doing just exactly what caused her daughter’s death? I view that as a distraction with her standing alongside the roadway as a reminder of what happened that fateful day.

To create a distraction just to point out the distraction that took her life just doesn’t sit well with me.
