Letter: Suspended doctor saved my life
I am writing in response to your recent article on Dr. Victor Brooks (State health officials suspend license of Tri-City family doctor, TCH, April 6).
In 1999, Dr. Brooks selflessly stepped up as my doctor, helping me through a terrible liver disease while being the most professional doctor I had ever met. The use of narcotics for pain relief aided my pain problems, however, Dr. Brooks taught me how to reduce my dependency on drugs, also emphasizing exercise, diet and humor.
I believe that his record-keeping was in slight disarray back then, but other than that, the doctor would see patients for free and work until he was very tired. He pioneered a loving family, a wonderful, fruitful practice, and saved my life.
The pitiful bedside manner most doctors in the Tri-Cities operate with was nowhere to be found. I’m sorry to read that there’s one less doctor helping Pasco — especially Victor Brooks.
He continues to be the example of the doctor I am training to become.
