Letter: Vote yes for ‘Link’ to advance the lovely area in which we live

The Tri-Cities, located in the great state of Washington, is a most desirable place to live: great weather and scenery, beautiful golf courses, excellent schools and opportunities for education, tremendous research centers, fun boating and water sports activities, and wonderful, friendly people — but, unfortunately, no adequate theaters for entertainment.

How can this be in a city with a draw area of 250,000 people? Instead, this population travels to Spokane, Seattle, Portland and Yakima for theatrical performances.

The possibility before the citizens of the Tri-Cities on Aug. 2, with the construction of the Link center, can change this scene. The passage of the upcoming vote for the center will aid in the economic development of our area by bringing in more visitors to our restaurants, retail stores and hotels, plus will provide our population with state-of-the-art theater entertainment, including Broadway productions.

Vote yes on Aug. 2 for the Link proposal, and you will be voting for the advancement and growth of the lovely area in which we live.
