Letter: Support group available for grieving grandparents

Grandparents, do you see and spend time with your grandchildren? I don’t, but not by my choice, and I’m not alone. There are many grandparents like myself who are struggling to make sense of the undeserved heartache that we are living with everyday.

I have been in my precious granddaughter’s life since the day she was born and have consistently loved and cared for her every day without fail.

There is a special bond between a grandparent and grandchild that is enriched with an unexplainable depth of love.

My pain has forced me to reach out for support. I found and have become part of a group with many other grieving grandparents. It’s called GROWS, or Grandparents Rights of Washington State. We share stories, heartache and lend support to each other.

Please join us and share your story, because you are not at all alone.

You can call me at 509-378-0027 anytime or go online to grandparentsrightsofwashingtonstate.org
