Letter: Don’t overlook parking needs for Toyota Center, convention center project

Planning for the Toyota Center and convention center by Kennewick officials, staff, and consultants continues with short-sighted disregard for parking needs.

In recent years, instead of adding parking near the convention center, Kennewick subtracted parking space by allowing a new hotel with no roof parking and no basement parking.

We go to plays and symphonies and would welcome a good theater if a multi-level parking structure were nearby with a pedestrian causeway to the theater.

Without a good plan for new parking, I will encourage my Kennewick friends to vote no.

Marve Hyman, Kennewick
