Letter: Cost of free stuff has to be borne by someone
The idea of returning America to a constitutional republic has been written about several times in this newspaper. This elicits remarks by the mockers and scoffers who happen to love what America has become. And this took place without the method of change required by the Constitution.
Self-serving politicians aren’t going to relinquish the power they have over the people. Most politicians don’t know what the Constitution requires, nor do they care. The same can be said of much of the populace of this country. If there was a true concern among Congress and a majority of the people, they would rise up and toss this president out of office for his circumvention of Congress, the Constitution and the will of the people. Such is the sad state in America.
This generation has been taught to expect free stuff, and if it isn’t forthcoming they rise up and demand it. These are the Bernies or moochers who elect looters to steal from producers.
The cost of free stuff has to be borne by someone. You won’t obtain rich people’s wealth. You will simply redistribute the middle class’s money, which results in a rich class and poor class of people.
