Letter: Comedy is healthy way to release the stress of daily life

This is in reply to Kenneth Reithmayr’s letter (TCH, April 27) about a marijuana-themed comedy show.

I am a principal owner of Atomic Bowl and Jokers Comedy Club. We are a family friendly entertainment center. We have an arcade for the kids, a casino for the adults, and a bowling center for all ages. We also have a sports bar, nightclub, and comedy club for adults. We host everything in our venue from weddings to funerals, charity events such as Junior Achievement, and fundraisers for local high schools.

The event you are so upset about is only one of many we have hosted. In fact, just one week prior to the “pot-themed comedy show” you complained about, we hosted the Addicts Comedy Tour —featuring Kurtis Matthews and Mark Lundholm — for recovering substance abusers.

Comedy is a healthy way for everyone to release the stress of daily life. Perhaps you should visit before declaring us to be the downfall of our nation.
