Letter: Richland needs to recognize the significance of Queensgate

Beautiful weather, so nice I am setting on my patio reading and enjoying the view. Unfortunately, while I am an engineer and love dump trucks, there are way too many going by. They come up Westcliffe Boulevard from Keene, turn onto Meadows Hills Drive and take a slow path past many homes to get up to the top street which is Queensgate.

Here is the rub. The main entrance to this great community is Queensgate Drive. The developer built a beautiful monument at Queensgate more than 10 years ago. The problem was and still is, you have to take Shockley Road and backtrack to get to Queensgate. No one is taking this route!

Queensgate where it intercepts Keene is only a few blocks from being connected to Westcliffe’s Queensgate! Apparently the way the city of Richland operates, we will have to continue to wait for someone to develop the area where there is a disconnect before this main street will be connected, as it should have been done more than 10 years ago.

I suggest that Richland recognize the significance of Queensgate, also the gateway to the main Badger Mountain trailhead and parking lots, and give it some attention now.
