Letter: Please help support the Union Gospel Mission’s expansion in Pasco

Everywhere you look, there’s a probability of seeing a homeless person roaming the streets. They cannot afford to stay in a warm place or pay for food. Some of the homeless are not in proper attire to withstand the temperatures from the outside. They have clothes that don’t fit them anymore. They only have whatever they find or what they have gotten from others.

The Tri-Cities Union Gospel Mission serves a great number of people in need. Their website says there 30,000-plus people living in poverty in the Tri-Cities, with 1,000-plus people living on the streets. The impact that the Union Gospel Mission has made on the community is tremendous.

I believe that helping the Union Gospel Mission can benefit the community. They have raised $8.12 million for a 36,000-square-foot men’s campus, but are still in need of $209,000 to complete the facility.

Every penny counts. A donation of a few extra dollars or change can help the mission achieve great things.
