Letter: Voters will never get any useful information from candidates
After listening to yet another diatribe between the presidential candidates, I have come to the conclusion that “we the people” will never derive any useful information from their constant incendiary bickering. They denigrate and interrupt their opponents, propose ridiculous plans minus any operational specifics, and rely on economic and legal rants rather than moral or ethical reasoning.
Is it any wonder that we have zero trust in our elected officials? Their lack of self-control and outpouring of aggrandizement serve only as harbingers of their behavior if elected.
We still have months to endure these boastful and deceitful debates which, to quote Macbeth, are “a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”
I hope, wish, pray, that someday Congress will pass a bill limiting candidates to speak directly to how they will solve the problems facing this country, accompanied by means, costs and timetables. Yes, I have a dream!
