Letter: Trump cannot call every Muslim a hater of the USA

Donald Trump told CNN reporter Anderson Cooper, “I think Islam hates us.” (Islam is the religion of Muslims).

I am Muhammad Nurul Islam and live in Richland. I was a nuclear safety manager at Hanford. I was overseas on 9/11. As I landed in Seattle, the immigration officer “welcomed me.” The airline agent tried to keep me away from the flight to the Tri-Cities. As I came home, my wife told me that Mr. Simpson, boss at Westinghouse, called, inquired about her safety and offered her a room until I came back from overseas. Other Caucasian colleagues and friends wanted to help. Am I going to hate or hurt USA?

There are good people and bad people in every country. Terrorists have no religion. Timothy McVeigh was not a Muslim. I end by saying that if a person wants to become the leader of the greatest country on Earth and the free world, he or she needs to deal with 1.5 billion plus Muslims. Mr. Trump, you cannot call every Muslim a hater of the USA or kill them all. You should apologize to the good Muslims of the world.
