Letter: Dangerous walkway over I-182 at Broadmoor
The Broadmoor Boulevard overpass “walkway” over Interstate 182 is dangerous and should be modified. There is no sidewalk, curb or barrier for people walking or biking this path.
Most concerning are the youth from the new Delta High School crossing this very busy overpass throughout the day. Youth and adults are placed at risk each day due to this unsafe overpass by the heavy congestion of cars coming off and entering a 70 mph freeway.
Let’s prevent a likely tragedy by making a simple modification to this walkway. A model solution would be a protective barrier such as the one on the new bridge over I-182 on Keene Road in south Richland.
