Letter: Lecture series on radiation effects April 6-7
I appreciate the Tri-City Herald publishing my letters to the editor relative to the McClatchy articles published in your paper about compensation for sick nuclear workers. It was good that they stirred up some interesting comments from readers with opinions and information different from mine.
I have been asked to give the Herbert M. Parker Foundation lectures this year, both of which will be held at Washington State University Tri-Cities in the lecture hall. This will provide a good forum for discussion on subjects related to radiation effects.
The first lecture — “Irradiated: How does the body respond to low doses?” — is focused on science for students and will be given from 2-3:30 p.m. on April 6. The second — “Irradiated: My Experience” — is for the general public from 6:30-8 p.m. April 7.
The time allotted for the presentations will allow ample time for questions and answers. I appreciate the input and participation from all those interested.
Dr. Antone L. Brooks
