Letter: American school lunches complete trash compared to other countries

You may have noticed the terrible food choices that are served in American schools. If you have, then you should also know that our school lunches are complete trash compared to the lunches in schools in other countries.

One of the problems with our school lunches are the terrible nutrition values. Most are high in trans-fats and salts, and lack the fruits and vegetables that kids need. Another problem is the way they are prepared. If you have seen what your local school feeds its students then you probably agree that it looks like some little kid badly prepared a meal all on their own, put it in a freezer for a couple of days, and then tried to heat it up.

Now if America is supposed to be one of the best countries, then why is the food it gives children so terrible compared to other countries? Sweden and France give their students meals that we typically see in fancy restaurants with very healthy nutritional values. So ask yourself, are you pleased with our school lunches?
