Letter: Why do Americans feel the need to kill each other en masse?
In regard to Andy Perdue’s column about the upcoming Badger Club forum on the gun control issue, I was left with one question. Why do Americans feel the need to kill each other en masse?
Gun control is a political issue. Our real societal issue is what is going on that we feel like our only option is to find a weapon and kill as many as we can get to hold still? It seems to me that is what we really need to examine.
People driven to that extreme don’t need a gun — they could use a knife, bomb or other weapons. It was not long ago a young man chose fertilizer and diesel fuel to destroy a building. Is this really about helping people?
