Letter: Voting will mean choosing the lesser of two evils

As an 18-year-old with the right to vote for the first time, I find myself examining the candidates running for the office of the President of the United States. I am finding that each candidate has a different set of positive aspects and ideas that would benefit our country.

However, with this presidential race, the candidates seem to bring many more negative aspects or ideologies to the race. In short, it seems the bad of the candidates outweighs the good. In my American Government class at Columbia Basin College, I have learned how important it is for every citizen to vote for the person they deem worthy as being our next president. It was, in fact, how our government was created to be ran.

But as election day draws closer and closer, I find myself looking at the candidates, and realizing that I do not believe that any of them could do a good job at being our president. For me in a sense, voting will be choosing the lesser of the two evils, which is quite unfortunate. What a terribly scary position to be in.
