Letter: Global warming has been going on for thousands of years

Our national government refers to global change, but the stress is global warming. I see the global change. Every day temperatures rise and at night cool, but yesterday the high was higher than normal and the low was lower. That is a little narrow. In a recent forecast, the record high was 62 in 1995 and the record low was 7 in 2011. Global cooling?

To be more realistic, let’s go more general. In the 1970s it was all global warming. The cause was carbon dioxide. Soon after, it was global warming, caused by carbon dioxide! Now the national government can’t make up its mind. Maybe, the ecologists just hate green stuff that needs carbon dioxide.

Actually, global warming has been going on for thousands of years. If the all-knowing scientists were right, there have been several ice ages followed by warming spells. A fellow high school mate trespassing on the Yakima firing range found a petrified palm tree.

Of course there have been ups and downs with each change. Some insist that it is all natural. We should place the blame on those thoughtless cavemen who started driving around in their gas-guzzling SUVs and trucks.
