Letter: Are you ready to vote?
Election year is finally upon us. We will be electing a new president this November. Are you ready to vote wisely? After all of the hype, news, smear campaigns, etc., the day is coming when you can put the talk into action.
When you vote, you honor the sacrifices that our ancestors made and that today’s soldiers make in fighting for our freedom; so sacrifice a few minutes of your time and cast a ballot.
Do your homework:
Decide what is important to you.
Get to know your candidates and the issues.
Go to the polls and vote for your candidate.
Remember, one vote really does make a difference. Your voice is your say and should be heard. Make your vote a matter of pride. Your vote counts! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Election Day is the one day when everyone in the U.S. is equal. Your vote counts just as much as anyone else’s. Stand up for what you believe in. It’s your constitutional right. Make it work. Register and vote.
As Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
