Letter: Trump has exposed fundamental GOP myths about Planned Parenthood and Iraq war
I would like to congratulate the luminaries in the GOP for advancing the no-nonsense electoral approach of Donald Trump, the most recent example of a reformed nativist. We are now left with the “tough love” discussion of several of the north star mythologies of Republicans these last decades.
First of all, the Donald has honestly acknowledged the thankless work Planned Parenthood has done for the nation, regardless of what your opinion may be regarding abortion.
Secondly, and perhaps most unexpectedly, he has finally laid bare the shameless way we, the voters of our republic, were blatantly manipulated into getting ourselves deeply involved in our second Iraq war. Can even the most ardent Republican acknowledge that what Cheney and “W” did was a colossal mistake?
Personally, though I have very little in common with most of the views of the Donald, I applaud his honesty regarding the fundamental myths upon which Republicans continue to ascribe.
