Letter: Republican candidates willfully ignorant about North Korean nuclear weapons problem

I was part of the team that canned North Korean nuclear fuel and put it under International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards in the late 1990s when Bill Clinton was president.

I was aghast a few years later when President Bush did nothing as the Koreans broke the seals and reprocessed the fuel to separate out the weapons-grade plutonium.

I was disgusted by the willful ignorance of the current Republican candidates who tried to lay the North Korean nuclear weapons problem at President Obama’s doorstep.

Facts are facts, no matter how much they might want to create their own on the fly!
