Letter: We’re headed for disaster if enormous debt not controlled

Mark Mansperger refers to Reagan’s enormous debt as being responsible for many of our major problems today.

Allow me, if you will, to present the facts, not Mansperger’s facts.

Reagan second-term debt increase — $1.692 trillion.

George H.W. Bush one-term debt increase — $1.587 trillion.

Bill Clinton second-term debt increase — $1.640 trillion.

George W. Bush second-term debt increase — $4.899 trillion.

At the conclusion of Obama’s terms he will have added another 10 or 11 trillion dollars to our debt.

Now who is responsible for many of our major problems today? It appears to me that W. and Obama are more responsible as far as the enormous debt is concerned. They didn’t do this by themselves. Congress and the people share the blame also.

We’re headed for disaster unless this debt increase is halted!
