Letter: People should learn to love each other irrespective of their beliefs
The World Interfaith Harmony Week, Feb. 1-7, provided a platform where people belonging from different faiths engaged in talks based on two major and common religious commandments; love of god and love of the neighbor. It focuses on strengthening ties and uphold goodwill in the global society.
I’m a foreign exchange student from Pakistan. I’m a Muslim. I’ve been staying in the United States for the past five months. During this time, I’ve been visiting church and I really like it. I realize that we share more common values than the differences we have.
I believe the mutual understanding between ethnic groups will serve to establish peace and harmony in the world. People should learn to love each other irrespective of their beliefs. Nobody is better or worse, we’re just different in a beautiful way and so much alike as human beings.
