Letter: Howard Amon donated land for city park, not public market
When Howard Amon donated the land to the city of Richland that is now known as Howard Amon Park, it was with the understanding that the land could be used only as a city park. Now some folks want to build a public market there.
A woman I have known for years is a niece of Howard Amon. She has had to speak up several times in the past to prevent development. She is no longer able to speak up. It would be nice if Richland city officials remembered that provision.
