Letter: Fascism threatens America, but not because of Republicans

Regarding “ Fascism threatens America,” (TCH, Jan. 31, Mark Mansperger), is this the view of the Tri-City Herald or is this the only person you can get to write guest columns?

It is clear that Mark is a solid Democrat, who prefers socialism. Mark, first we are not a democracy we are a Republic. You are right, fascism threatens America. But not because of the Republican, conservative and constitutional. Look at your own party, they want an all-powerful central government targeting conservatives, evangelical Christians and Orthodox Jews.

Think back to Barack Obama’s comment that the main problem with the Constitution is that it primarily specifies what government cannot do to people. Progressivism is a harbinger of fascist collectivism. Omnipotent central government, economic “crony capitalism,” redistribution of wealth — all these are consistent with fascism.

So the day I see a person wrapped in the American flag, carrying a cross and the Constitution, I know what he stands for. Not ashamed of the flag or putting God in the closet. And yes, America will be the land of the free and home of the brave.
