Letter: Why not replace eyesore in Richland with public market?
I thought it was a joke when I saw that the fingernail area at Howard Amon Park was even being considered to house the Tri-Cities public market. Seriously?
What is your aversion to filling in the large (eyesore) pit that greets every single person who comes into Richland? Whoever ordered this study obviously has never spent any time at said park or they never would have ordered it!
When we go to Seattle (which is quite often) we always make it a point to go to Pike Place. Imagine if we could have that here? People would come from all around and they would be spending money that would stay local! And the only place I can see that happening is 650 George Washington Way.
Give up the idea of another doctor’s office or condos, which is all that ever seems to get built around here. We need something to put Richland on the map (besides Hanford of course)!
